Shenghang Group Attended ExxonMobil IMT Shipowners Forum to Discuss Ship Management and Industry Development Together

On November 7, 2024, General Manager of Shenghang Group, Li Guanghong, Vetting Manager of Safety Supervision Department, Capt. Wu Hai, and the subsidiary General Manager of Shenghang Haoyuan, Capt. Zhu Jianlin, were invited to attend the IMT Shipowners Forum hosted by ExxonMobil in Singapore. The forum brought together shipowners from ExxonMobil’s Southeast Asia region, with the aim of promoting deep cooperation and mutual benefit between shipowners and energy suppliers through sharing industry trends, case studies, and team building.

 

On the day of the conference, the forum began with welcome registration and safety sharing to ensure that attendees had a full understanding of the industry’s safety requirements and compliance matters. Then, the IMF’s General Manager gave a keynote speech, providing an in-depth analysis of the latest trends in the global shipping industry, particularly changes in environmental regulations and the application of green fuels. The forum featured an analysis by the Loss Prevention Department of the Britannia P&I Club of recent trends in fuel bunkering operations, identification of operational risks, and sharing of strategies to reduce or eliminate such risks. The forum also featured an industry sharing session on methanol bunkering, exploring the potential of methanol as an alternative fuel for vessel bunkering and the challenges of its implementation. Following that, ExxonMobil’s accident investigation experts reviewed industry accident trends, analyzed risk management experience, and shared insights on how to enhance safety and prevent potential risks. The afternoon’s panel discussion and Q&A session provided a platform for attendees to exchange ideas on hot topics such as ship safety management, emergency response and industry innovation. Finally, the Vice President of AP Fuel from ExxonMobil shared the strategic direction for future energy supply in the closing remarks, and the forum concluded with a social event that promoted cooperation and networking among industry players.

This IMT Shipowners Forum provided Shenghang Group with a valuable opportunity to exchange directly with international peers and industry leaders, further deepening the company’s understanding of global shipping industry trends. General Manager Li Guanghong, stated that the forum not only helped the company grasp the latest industry information, but also provided important support for the company’s strategic decision-making in areas such as ship management, safe operation and environment-friendly shipping.
