On December 29, 2023, the launch ceremony of Shenghang Group’s 5500m³ semi-cooled and semi-pressurized LPG/NH3/VCM carrier grandly held at Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou. At 3:58 p.m., as Chairman Li Taoyuan of Shenghang Group issued the instruction, the first liquefied gas carrier of Shenghang Group was slowly taken out of the dock by the tugboat, and successfully entered the Yangtze River. Hundreds of guests present jointly witnessed this exciting and important moment.
The launch of this new carrier indicates that it has basically completed the structural construction and equipment installation. In the next phase, the carrier will undergo mooring and sea trials to comprehensively test its overall capabilities and specific equipment. According to the construction plan, the carrier will complete sea trials in the first quarter of 2024, and officially delivered into service in the second quarter.
The launch of this new carrier marks that Shenghang Group’s development in the field of clean energy supply chain has taken a solid step forward. Along with the subsequent onshore storage tank business and 22000m³ ethylene/liquid ammonia carrier construction project, Shenghang Group will continue to make efforts in the field of clean energy supply chain by continuously improving clean energy waterway transportation, road transportation, trade operation, terminal storage business to achieve collaborative development with first-class vessels, advanced facilities, professional management, so as to provide global customers with safe, high-quality, efficient clean energy supply chain logistics services.
