In order to enhance the cohesion and pride of employees, and stimulate the employees’ enthusiasm for work, on August 26, 2023, the Company Labour Union of Nanjing Shenghang Shipping Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shenghang Group”) organized about 70 shore-based employees to visit China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou.
To earnestly implement the guiding ideology of “Safety First”, the Company Labour Union of Shenghang Group set up an emergency safety team one week in advance, formulated a safety plan, and required each employee to wear a helmet and a pair of gloves equipped by the company during the shipyard visit, aiming to avoid possible casualties and property losses caused by accidents. Arriving at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou at about 10 a.m. on August 26, under the leadership of the shipyard staff and the ship management personnel of the company’s Maritime Department and Safety Supervision Department, the employees boarded two newly-built 25000DWT and 6600DWT stainless steel chemical tankers and visited in batches, to understand the basic structure of ships, and feel the scientific and technological strength of China’s modern chemical ships. The employees also visited the construction workshops of the two ships to understand the ships’ overall structures and internal facilities, and they all expressed that they had a concrete cognition of the vague concept of “shipbuilding” and a three-dimensional sense of the process of ship construction.
The activity to visit the shipyard, organized by the Company Labour Union of Shenghang Group, is aimed to broaden shore-based employees’ professional horizons, let employees realize the importance of the company’s safety culture and ship safety management. More importantly, the shore-based employees experienced the working scene and hard work of the first-line ship’s crew and shipyard workers. The employees all feel encouraged to carry forward the entrepreneurial spirit of hard work, and dutifully and actively participate in the development of Shenghang Group.
