On December 11, 2024, the General Manager Li Guanghong of NANJING SHENGHANG SHIPPING CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “the company” or “Shenghang Group”), led the Operations Management Team (OMT) to visit the Dongshan and Gulei Marine Departments of Zhangzhou Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of the People’s Republic of China.
Accompanied by Xu Kun, the head of the Dongshan Marine Department, Shenghang Group’s OMT visited the safety culture corridor and had in-depth exchanges to understand the jurisdiction management range and safety performance achieved by high-tech means in maritime safety supervision of the Dongshan Marine Department. During the exchange, the General Manager Li Guanghong mentioned the support needed from the maritime authorities to ensure safe, efficient and accident-free operations of the company’s vessels during operation in the jurisdiction of the Dongshan Marine Department. Through in-depth exchanges, both parties reached consensus on the safety management of the company’s vessels during operation in the jurisdiction, as well as the provision of support for anchoring and taking shelter from the wind when necessary.
In the afternoon of that day, during the visit and exchange with the Gulei Maritime Department led by the General Manager Li Guanghong, the two sides reached consensus on issues of common concern, and the visit to Gulei achieved the expected results.
On the morning of December 12, 2024, General Manager Li Guanghong and his delegation had a cordial and friendly exchange with the management team of Fujian COSCO SHIPPING Petrochemical Terminal Co., Ltd. General Manager Zhao Chunbo introduced the scale of its warehousing facilities and their company's layout, and provided detailed information on its future development plans and the related businesses to be expanded soon. The highlight of the petrochemical terminal is that it can wash tanks in port and provide washing tank water supporting services, which can effectively solve the pain point of chemical transport companies in terms of washing tank water discharge along the coastal route. General Manager Li Guanghong introduced the development history, fleet size, safety culture, and development plans and strategic layout of Shenghang Group.
Both parties reviewed the cooperation history in freight business and ship safety management in recent years, exchanged information on their current business layouts and future development plans, and General Manager Zhao Chunbo expressed admiration for the company’s early layout in the new energy field, and was very interested in the projects involving the entire process of liquid ammonia operation, transportation and storage, and looked forward to further cooperation in the ammonia business in the future.
On the same afternoon, General Manager Li Guanghong led a visit to the Wanhua Chemical (Fujian) Terminal Co., Ltd. General Manager Lu Peng emphasized the advantages of Wanhua’s MDI project and its broad application prospects in various fields. Globally, the total capacity of MDI is about 10.4 million tons per year, and Wanhua Chemical is the largest MDI supplier, occupying a pivotal position in the global MDI market. It is reported that MDI has broad application prospects in the fields of architecture, furniture, automobiles, electronics and aviation, and therefore, as the economy further recovers, there will be a huge demand for suitable vessels in the global chemical shipping market. Shenghang Group look forward to further expanding cooperation with Wanhua Chemical in more fields and on a broader scale.
Through this exchange visit, not only was the understanding and mutual trust between the two sides deepened, but also a solid foundation was laid for further cooperation in the future. Through the exchange, all parties expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation in their respective areas of expertise and jointly develop, and looked forward to working together in the future to achieve win-win cooperation and create a better future.
